3 web sites with lots of links

Practical jokes aside, scientists do catch snipe. Photo © Matt Miller/TNC

Snipe hunting is a lot of fun.  I found this web site which has 10 good links to more info in the subject.  Snipe Hunting: myth and legend  This site has good pictures and has a good environmental feel on the issue of snipe hunting.  Shockingly enough the Snipe is a real bird.  This site has a great photo of the elusive bird, that has plagued so many young adventures.  On this site the links are green which, to my liking are in tune with the theme of the page.  Nature and its conservation ring true throughout.  Good site.

Wilson's SnipeOne of the greatest things about the hunting is memory's and stories shared around the campfire.  Most of the time the elder huntsmen spend more time making the experience special for the younger ones.  The great american snipe hunt is one of those special memory's which some of the funniest story's are born from.  This site has a great story with the boy scouts.  Bird Freak  I have roughly counted forty one links on this page.  I included the ads.  I thought the ad on online coding boot camp was a nice fit for the bird loving community, not!  This site mixed brown and blue links for local or web links(absolute, and relative). Not great but good.

This next site is the grand daddy of them all.  This site has roughly over 250 plus links.  All these links are blue which brings a calming effect to the page.  My eyes drooped, and I was barely able to count the links.  Wild Hunt

Now I know this is a Wikipedia site, with lots of references, but a better design could really help the user process and move through the information in a better way.  For instance, link colors could be grouped in sub-color category's to group relative information together.  I mean, the darn page is half blue.  It really distracts the eye from being able to read the content in a productive way.  Bad site.
